What kind of changes can I expect?

How does it work?

01. Tell us about you.

There is a form at the bottom of the page to tell us more about yourself. Your workout program and healthy habits will be built specifically on your answers. 

Your time. 3 days, 4 days or more. 

Your place. Home or big box gym!

Your available equipment. Don't buy special equipment. We can create a program even around body weight exercises. 

02. Download PowerFit App

Workouts delivered to your app. Each day you get a reminder notification and you can see your 'to do' list for the day. Healthy habits will also be listed your list.

03. Strength Workouts

On strength building days the workouts will see your list of exercises based on your answers from step 1. You see videos of how to do the exercise and you log your reps and weight.

04. HIIT Workouts

On High Intensity Interval Training workouts (HIIT) days, you just need to run your workout. This is a time based workout so there isn't anything to really log. Just run and follow. HIIT gets your heart rate going while maximizing fat burn. 

05. 6 Week Phases

It is better to make changes over time. When you sign up for our subscription, your program will change every 6 weeks. 

Continued Challenges: Don't get bored with the same workouts.

BOOST YOUR METABOLISM

Don't burn calories ONLY while you are working out. Burn calories after by building strength.

 

The Best way to burn is when you are not exercising.

 

You don't have a slow metabolism because it is genetic. You can truly boost your metabolism. I did it. I went from 1200 to over 1400! That’s an increase of 200 calories being burned every day while I am doing nothing! You can boost your metabolic rate too through building lean muscle.

 

Our programs effectively combine low intensity strength building exercises with High intensity interval training (HIIT). This combination has been proven to torch calories and raise your metabolic rate for lasting calorie burn. Lean muscle will help you look leaner too.

 

Building lean muscle is especially good for women over the age of 40+.

  • We loose 1% muscle ever year over the age of 40 which is why our bones get frail

  • Muscle increases our fat burn

  • Muscle helps regulates hormones

 

It's important to know that more cardio won't help with any of those things. In fact, it could raise our cortisol (stress hormone) which makes it harder to lose weight.

HERE ARE 5 MISTAKES MAKING EXERCISE A WASTE OF TIME.

Mistake 1: Thinking "More Cardio = More Results"

Cardio workouts have their time and place. But long cardio workouts are not required to burn fat. Shorter HIIT workouts are very effective at getting results.

 

Long Cardio workouts can work against you:

  • Cardio increases the stress hormone cortisol. This will lead to hormonal imbalance which leads to fat gain not fat lose.

  • It's repetitive, so it's easier to get injured.

Mistake 2: Avoiding Weight Lifting because it will make me bulky

Cardio workouts have their time and place. But long cardio workouts are not required to burn fat. Shorter HIIT workouts are very effective at getting results.

Mistake 3: Doing the same workouts week over week

Our bodies are amazing at adopting to the stress we put it through. If you start an exercise with 20lb dumbbells, after about 6 weeks (this varies) your body has adapted to that 20lbs so it not building strength anymore.

 

Our bodies need to be challenged to change. There are so many ways to challenge our bodies but your workouts need to change.

Mistake 4: We should stop working out as we age

This couldn't be more wrong. Exercise is the most powerful anti-aging drug specially weight lifting. Exercise regulates hormones which regulates metabolism. Muscle specifically burns fat and increase your metabolic rate. Your metabolic rate is the rate at which you burn calories while at rest. Regular exercise and regular activity every day boosts your metabolism so you burn more calories. Regular exercise and muscle building lowers risk of chronic diseases.

Muscle is the currency of longevity. Without muscle you will decline:

  • Increased inflammation

  • Metabolism declines

  • Cortisol increases

  • Hormones become imbalanced

Mistake 5: Not making other important healthy changes in your life

Whether it is eating healthy with the correct macros for you and reducing processed foods or prioritizing sleep.

Other lifestyle choices will impact your results. Or not using Intermittent Fasting to help balance hormones. All these and so much more really impacts your ability to loose fat.

 

I would also say focused on the scale. I use the term fat and not weight. When you build muscle, the scale won't change because muscle does weight more than fat on the scale. However, you will feel better, stronger and have more energy.
